Training Organisation for the Personal Social Services (TOPSS) The UK training organisation for personal social services is to be established to create and support education and training initiatives and promote workforce planning. It will operate through four country/National Training Committees and a UK Training Organisation. As information becomes available about the membership and operational arrangements this will be updated.

The CareNet website has been produced in conjunction with leading care provider representative organisations and educational establishments to enable easy access to comprehensive, up to date information for all stakeholders in all sectors of the care industry. It includes a data base of service provision in the UK with the facility to search by geographical location and type or category of service. They aim to provide a free comprehensive listing of all provider organisations by April 1999. The database will be updated regularly both during the construction period and in the future. |

The ICO represents major trade associations which have joined together to support Government initiatives in education and training and ensure that the voice of the Independent Sector moves forward to play an active role in the advancement of the National Training organisation for Health and Social Care. Major partners in the Project are Care Forum Wales, Council for Complementary Medicine, the Independent Healthcare Association, the National Care Homes Association, the Registered Nursing Homes Association and the United Care Association. |
